One of the most unique elements of my work is the use of egg tempera, an exquisite painting medium which dates back to the Renaissance. I create my own paints from pure ground pigments and the yolk of an egg. Egg tempera is an exceptionally brilliant medium, which offers vivid, jewel-like colors and allows crisp, delicate detail.
I use archival (permanent) materials to create my Ketubot and paintings. My Ketubot are hand-lettered, using a pen dipped in Sumi or India ink. The support is 100% rag paper.
For those who want a bolder, more large-scale statement, I have begun creating ketubot on canvas with acrylic paint. Acrylic on canvas doesn't require framing under glass, and also allows for the use of textural and iridescent paints (see example.)
